Installs, configures, and maintains application equipment and support application infrastructure environment.
•             Determine application needs and incorporate them into the design and overall plan for application support.
•             Organizes and coordinates the activities associated with installation, deployment, and upgrade of software and hardware relating to application environment.
•             Responsible for acting on existing Level 2 (L2) and Level 3 (L3) trouble tickets established in the tracking system.
•             Receive complex tickets that Level 1 (L1) help desk support and technical support analyst cannot resolve.
•             Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems proactively establishing root cause and mitigation recommendations to prevent further issues.
•             Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure timely resolution.
•             Responsible for customer service and end-user training.
•             Familiar with a variety of the field’s concept, practices, and procedures.
•             Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
•             Performs a variety of tasks.
•             A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
•             Works under general supervision; typically reports to a team lead or supervisor/manager.
With direction from the Wintel Lead and direct Supervisor, responsible for the following tasks (but not limited to):
• Assist with Solarwinds monitoring environment
o Setup server and application monitoring.
o Assist with report creation.
o Setup application Dashboard views using Solarwinds
o Perform server health checks.
o Apply system analysis tools and techniques to resolve identified issues.
o Assist with creating proactive monitoring services to capture and report availability and performance trends.
o Maintain Solarwinds environment
• Accountable for supporting the day-to-day operations, support and management of the Wintel server environment
o Determine when it is necessary to consult with others, including team members, Telecomm/Network, and Application teams, to resolve issues or enhance processes.
o Document all trouble and changes tickets.
o Communicate with end users on the status of tickets, in a timely manner.
o Provide system maintenance.
• Perform patch management and coordination.
• Maintain Backup application and jobs.
o Verifies on a daily basis that backup jobs are completed and takes corrective action when they are not.
o Ensure proper tape rotation and tapes are taken off-site.
• Provides diagnosis for operating systems, software, and product failures.
• Assist with server compliance, audit and remediation.
• 7+ years of experience managing a Windows server environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
• Experience with Solarwinds products (Orion, SAM, Virtualization Manager and DB analyzer) is preferred.
• Excellent trouble shooting skills with ability to determine the root cause of problems.
• Ability to understand technical and complex issues.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2003, 2008 R2, 2012, and 2012 R2
• Experience with server and OS administration.
• Moderate knowledge of server/blade hardware (primarily HP).
• Experience with VMware (vSphere 5.0 and up) is beneficial.
• Experience with SCCM is a plus.
• Experience with Linux is a plus.
