Network Control Technician

Network Control Technician: Intermediate Skill Level: 3-5 years experience. Under general supervision, performs complex tasks relating to circuit & router replacement project, network monitoring, operations, installation, testing and/or maintenance for local, off-site and/or remote locations.  Requires a thorough understanding of data networking including routing, switching, and WAN network technology to include frame relay, ATM and MPLS technologies.  Robust knowledge of Router, Ethernet Switch, DS1 through OC-n and Cisco equipment is also required.  May provide technical assistance and guidance to less experienced technicians.  Handles complex network tasks and activities; identifies and resolves complex network problems.  This technical position is responsible for maintaining the integrity and connectivity of network communication elements.  Monitors and analyzes the performance and status of all network facilities.  Interfaces with users and vendors to identify and resolve network malfunctions.  Supports and troubleshoots the telecommunications equipment in both the data and voice network environments.
 
Basic Qualifications
 
-Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
-At least 3 years experience with a data center operating environment, day-to-day operational requirements, and the operation of production systems and equipment.
-Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification and/or equivalent work experience.
