Data Architect- Detroit, MI- Contract to Hire - 2 Positions!!!
Must have:
1.  6+ years of experience within health care analyzing Health plan data (Membership, Claims, Provider, Clinical, etc.), and knowledge of the business processes and supporting metrics/KPI
2.  10+ years’ experience architecting and modeling an enterprise use layer (dimensions/facts), dependent data marts and BI/reporting solutions against a very large Enterprise-wide Data Warehouse (10+ terabytes) according to industry standard data models . Superior communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation), resource will be the primary interface between operational and analytical areas in the business, enterprise architecture, and technical resources developing information management solutions
1. Lead the design, development and implementation of complex, multi-application transactional and analytical data models at the conceptual and logical levels using standard data modeling tools
2. Translate complex business requirements into tangible data requirements through collaborative work with both business and technical subject matter experts. Develops Logical models with an eye towards high performance, scalability, flexibility and usability.. Ensures data models are in alignment with the overall Enterprise Information Management Architecture
3. Publishes and conducts model reviews and negotiations solutions with business and technical teams. Analyzes and profiles large and complex data sets to discover and/or validate data quality issues and business rules.
4. Develops and documents functional specifications for data transformation based on business rules. Ensures consistency of data definitions across areas of responsibility. Assist with the translation of logical models to physical tables. Assist Business and IT associates with creation of complex queries. Actively researches philosophical and technological changes in data management and pursues an understanding of the organization’s business plans and strategies. Evaluates the value of these trends to the organization and presents the information to management and other team members.
5.Provides data modeling and other data-related consulting services to less experienced associates. Facilitates the development of data-related policies, processes, procedures and standards
  • Extensive knowledge of data modeling concepts and best practices both in a multi-layer data warehouse (Normalized / Inmon) and  data mart (Dimensional / Kimball)
  • Experience with data modeling and metadata solutions including ERWin, System Architect, Informatica Metadata Manager, and leveraging those solutions to produce data dictionaries and enterprise data lineage documentation. Experience with data architecture for various layers of EDW including data hub, ODS, EDW and Data Marts
  • Experience with data governance working with data stewards and business stakeholders to understand the impacts of data model changes, gain consensus on data definition and business rules, and communicating to all consuming systems. Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor data modelers and data analysts
  • Knowledge of transaction standards (834, NCPDP, HL7, etc.). Experience with Master Data Management solutions, Informatica MDM and Initiate preferred. Experience with data profiling/quality solution, Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in writing and analyzing complex SQL queries in a Very Large Database (VLDB) environment is required. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and deliver within tight timelines while being flexible in adapting to new roles. Ability to work with multiple areas within organization to get business objectives, data requirements etc. Ability to interpret data that is not well defined or documented and develop recommendations based on findings.
