Hands-on experience with HCM systems, particularly SuccessFactors reporting tools (Advanced Reporting, ORD, Ad Hoc) and PeopleSoft

  • As a Reporting Analyst you are responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of human resource data associated with the collection, retrieval, accessibility and usage of employee information for Human Resource department planning and activities. You will work with leaders, business partners, and employees across departments and functions to design and implement new processes or programs within HR and other groups, including but not limited to payroll, finance, IT, and legal. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong technical competencies; and a project management background or orientation. The emphasis in this role will be focused on the delivery of reporting and analytics, including working with HR Business Partners and functional leaders to execute and build the HR reporting and dashboard portfolio. The HR Reporting Analyst will be the subject matter expert in reporting and analytics of HR data. Essential Functions:
    • Create, maintain and support a variety of reports and queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Assist in development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs. Develop custom reports to meet the requirements of Human Resource management and staff. Develop new KPI and operational dashboards.
    • Drive the evolution of HR metrics to deliver greater value to the company, enabling insights into the workforce; work closely with senior HR leaders in support of frequent business reviews with all levels of executives.
    • Manipulate and analyze large data sets to distill insights from data and connect disparate ideas into cohesive, well-grounded recommendations using creative, structured and analytical thinking.
    • Think strategically with the ability to execute efficiently. Be a key contributor towards transforming the function from operational to more strategic analytics. Able to act in a consultative capacity to influence and shape our reporting and analytics roadmap.
    • Create effective, scalable, and easy to understand reporting solutions (e.g. dashboards).
    • Quick turnaround of ad hoc report requests, able to prioritize workload and adjust as business needs require.
    • Continuously seek opportunities to implement process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established norms.
    • Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Train customers on new processes/functionality. Train new reporting users.
    • Provide guidance and support to other business analysts within the function.
  • Requirements:
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to convey complex results to non-technical stakeholders in a clear manner
    • Proven planning and organization skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
    • Strong understanding of HR processes and people data.
    • Demonstrated project and time management skills in delivering creative end-to-end solutions.
    • Expert knowledge of MS Office, including Excel (VB, macros, functions, pivots, vlookups, etc), Powerpoint, MS Access.
    • Able to build strong partnerships and collaborate with teammates, business leaders, HR clients, and HR application engineers to solve organizational problems and empower organizations with high quality data and analysis
    • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills with experience applying these skills within complex programs to address business and reporting requirements.
    • Solutions-oriented; ability to quickly and methodically analyze and identify areas for improvement.
    • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and be flexible and adaptable to changing situations. Ability to juggle multiple tasks while meeting aggressive deadlines.
    • Desired: Knowledge of statistical techniques including regression, experimental design, hypothesis testing- Experience developing analytic techniques such as: forecasting, predictive modeling, segmentation analysis, simulation modeling, data mining.
    Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor of Science, Arts, or Engineering Degree is required or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum 8 years of experience required; 9 to 11 years of experience preferred.
    • Hands-on experience with HCM systems, particularly SuccessFactors reporting tools (Advanced Reporting, ORD, Ad Hoc) and PeopleSoft
    • Experience with data visualization (e.g., tables, charts, graphs) via tools like Tableau
    • Knowledge and experience in implementation of best practices in the reporting space for both systems and processes/metrics
    • SaaS and working with vendors for support
    • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience applying these skills within complex programs to address business and reporting requirements
    • Solid knowledge of database structures, theories, principles and practices relational, non-relational databases, and columnar databases - Familiarity with SQL preferred

At least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or an equivalent in education is required for this position.
