The Expertise We’re Looking For
  • Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, including application knowledge
  • Global/Local load balancing knowledge in F5 environment
  • Strong Unix/Linux skills
  • Network Security skills: Firewall, IPS/IDS, Webfiltering, etc.
  • Network Engineering and Troubleshooting skills
  • Routed/Routing Protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF, VPNs
  • Application Traffic Analysis
  • Understanding Status codes: http 100, 400 etc…
  • Managed File Transfer, FTP, SFTP, etc…
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Packet capture and analysis a plus
  • Development/Automation/Scripting knowledge a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to work in high paced team environment
The Purpose of Your Role
The network engineer within Global Network Services Advanced Network Support will be responsible for support and maintenance of Fidelity Investments Internetwork services, including routers and switches, load balancing and security for the company. This will include supporting the network platforms on the Fidelity Managed Network, including routers and switches as well as Internet/Extranet platforms that provide network security, load balancing and managed file transfer. 
The Skills You Bring
  • Manage and Maintain highly complex firewall and network environments
  • Support Internet/Extranet Engineering through use of Firewalls, IDS/IPS, various proxy gateway and other network security devices to provide defense-in-depth protection from cyber security threats
  • Network Change Implementation
  • Implement code upgrade/hot fix from vendor
  • Change verification/validation with customer
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues related to change
  • Troubleshoot all issues related to Internet/extranet environment
  • Documentation of complex technologies and topologies
  • Vendor management for multiple platforms
  • Support the environment in an on-call rotation
  • Have the flexibility to work varying shifts


At least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or an equivalent in education is required for this position.
