Job Description:    
Plan and conduct examinations to assess compliance with the requirements of the Federal consumer financial laws; obtain information about the various business processes and compliance systems or procedures; and detect and assess risks to consumers and to markets for consumer financial products and services.

Responsibilities will include:
• Leading examinations and assessing compliance with consumer protection laws and regulations, including fair lending laws and regulations, rules regarding unfair or deceptive acts or practices and equal credit opportunity act, etc.
• Perform ongoing examinations to determine the effectiveness and adequacy of the organization’s compliance management program.
• Plan and assist the work of the compliance examiners consistent with internal audit standards. Work with examination staff to carry out and complete consumer compliance examinations and other compliance assessments.
• Assist in the review and development of examination findings, conclusions, and ratings resulting from the compliance examinations. Ensure that appropriate follow-up measures are identified and completed.
• Provides comprehensive written and verbal reports to management, including information relating to regulatory concerns noted during examinations.
• Provide technical expertise to staff, management, and compliance examination staff, on the interpretation of CFPB examination manual and procedures.
Requirements:
Consumer and/or regulatory compliance experience with a minimum of 6-8 years working in a role/department as a compliance consultant in legal, compliance, examination or audit, preferably within auto finance or banking. Proficient knowledge regarding the following regulations: FDCPA, GLBA, UDAAP, FCRA and ECOA (Reg. B), TILA (Reg. Z), CLA, and EFTA. Solid understanding of business practices of captive auto finance companies. In-depth understanding of audit and testing methodology, risk and controls analysis and business process mapping. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills with a strong attention to detail. Able to work in a team setting both as a leader and a participant. Demonstrate proficiency in meeting established deadlines. Experience working on multiple concurrent projects and under tight deadlines.


Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
CIA and/or CFSA Preferred

 


At least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or an equivalent in education is required for this position.
